This page lists every field shown in the Computer window and explains where the value comes from: which scanner collected it, which WMI class and property or registry key it was read from, or how PDQ Inventory worked it out. Use it when a value looks wrong, empty, or unexpected, and you need to know what to check on the target.
Unless a field says otherwise, the value was collected by a scan and is only as current as the last successful scan of that computer. Re-scan the computer before concluding that a value is wrong.
•Scanned - collected from the target by a scanner in a scan profile. The scanner named in the Source column must be part of a profile that has run against the computer.
•Calculated - worked out by PDQ Inventory from other values rather than read directly from the target.
•Not scanned - tracked by the PDQ Inventory server or console, entered by hand, or brought in from Active Directory or PDQ Deploy. Re-scanning will not change it.
•Enterprise - the field requires a PDQ Inventory Enterprise license. It stays blank in Free mode.
•User-defined - the field or the whole page only holds what you configured PDQ Inventory to collect. Nothing is collected by default.
•Hidden - the column is not shown by default. Add it with the Customize this grid button in the upper left of the grid, or right-click the column header and select Edit Columns.
WMI classes are in the root\CIMV2 namespace and registry paths are under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE unless stated otherwise.
Each page of the Computer window has its own field reference. Select a page below.
Page |
What it covers |
|---|---|
Name, description, uptime, OS, Active Directory, system hardware, scanning, and PDQ Connect. Mixes scanned values with ones the server tracks itself. |
Enterprise. The computer's AD group membership and the other PDQ Inventory computers in each group. Not scanned from the target. |
Installed software, from the Windows uninstall registry keys under both the machine hive and each loaded user profile. |
Not scanned. The collections this computer currently matches, worked out by the console from the data on the other pages. |
Processor name, speed, cache, and core counts. The totals are calculated from the socket count and the first processor. |
Enterprise and user-defined. Values you enter or import yourself; a scan never changes them. |
Enterprise. Not scanned. Deployment history read from the PDQ Deploy installation through the Deploy integration. |
Physical disks and their lettered volumes, including the Enterprise-only physical disk type, SMART status, and BitLocker columns. |
Monitors, decoded from the EDID block in the registry and from WMI where the monitor reports one. |
Environment variables, machine-wide and per profile, as stored rather than expanded. |
Enterprise and user-defined. Only the files and folders a Files & Directories scanner was configured to look for. |
Present devices from the Windows device list, with driver provider, version, date, and signer matched in from WMI. |
Updates and patches, merged from the Windows servicing records, update entries in the uninstall registry, and the MSI patch registry. |
Groups local to the computer and their members. Domain groups are not listed. |
Accounts local to the computer and the local groups each belongs to. Domain accounts are not listed. |
One row per installed module. Empty slots are not reported, and most virtual machines report nothing here. |
Network adapters, their connection status, and link speed. Source of the MAC Address on the Overview page. |
Enterprise and user-defined. Whatever your PowerShell scanner scripts returned from the target. |
Printers installed on the target, with driver version read from the print driver registry keys. |
A live view polled from the target while the page is open, not scan data. Empty when the computer is offline. |
Enterprise. Not scanned. Keys you type in or import; PDQ Inventory does not read product keys off targets. |
Enterprise and user-defined. Only the registry values a Registry scanner was configured to collect. |
Not scanned. The scan history for this computer - the first place to look when data on another page is stale or missing. |
Windows services, their state and start mode, from the Service Control Manager on the target. |
Shared folders and their share permissions. NTFS permissions on the underlying folder are not collected. |
Optional Windows features, plus server features on Windows Server editions. |
Enterprise. Scheduled tasks from every task folder on the target, including hidden tasks. |
Enterprise and user-defined. Whatever your WMI scanner queries returned from the target. |
