Performance Analyzer

The Performance Analyzer compares your server's settings against PDQ's recommended ranges and tells you what to change and where to change it. Open it from Help > Support > Performance Analyzer.

The analyzer runs against the local PDQ server. If both PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory are installed, it reports on both products and adds a set of cross-product checks. If only one product is installed, it reports on that product only.

Reading the results

Items that may need your attention are grouped by product and sorted with the highest performance impact first. Each item shows:

•Performance impact of either High or Low / Medium

•Current - the value found on the server

•Recommended - the value PDQ recommends

•Where to fix - the preference or view that controls the setting. Where possible this is a link that opens the setting for you, including in the other product's console.

Checks that passed are collected under checks look good at the bottom of the list. When nothing needs attention, the analyzer says so instead of listing items.

Select Re-run Analysis after changing a setting to confirm the item clears. To share the results with a support request, use Copy Results to put a text copy on the clipboard, or Export Results to save it to a file.

Optimizing the database

After making the recommended changes, close both consoles, open an elevated command prompt, and run the commands shown at the bottom of the analyzer window. This reclaims space that is no longer needed under the new settings.
