Customizing Your Dashboard

The PDQ Inventory dashboard can be customized. You can add, remove, and rearrange widgets to match your workflow. Your layout is saved automatically and persists across sessions.

Entering Edit Mode

All customization happens in edit mode. To enter edit mode, click the Edit Dashboard button (pencil icon) in the top-right corner of the dashboard. The dashboard background changes and widgets display drag handles, remove buttons, and a gear button for configuration.

When you are done making changes, click Done to exit edit mode and save your layout.

Adding a Widget

To add a widget to your dashboard:

1.Enter edit mode by clicking the Edit Dashboard button (pencil icon).

2.Click the Add Widget button (+ icon). The Widget Library opens.

3.Browse or search for the widget you want. Select a widget to see its name, description, and a preview.

4.Some widgets (such as SQL Widgets and the Collection Metric widget) require configuration before they can be added. Complete the required fields in the widget library panel.

5.Click Add to Dashboard.

The new widget is added to the end of the dashboard. You can then drag it to any position.

Removing a Widget

To remove a widget:

1.Enter edit mode by clicking the Edit Dashboard button (pencil icon).

2.Click the X button on the widget you want to remove.

The remaining widgets shift to fill the gap automatically.

Rearranging Widgets

To move a widget to a different position:

1.Enter edit mode by clicking the Edit Dashboard button (pencil icon).

2.Click and drag the widget to your desired position. Other widgets shift in real time to show you where the widget will land.

3.Release the mouse button to drop the widget.

Refreshing Widgets

Widgets refresh automatically on their configured schedule. To refresh all widgets immediately, click Refresh All in the dashboard toolbar. You can also click an individual widget to refresh just that widget.

Printing or Exporting Your Dashboard

You can print your dashboard or save it as a PDF. Printing is done from the pop-out dashboard window.

1.Click the Pop Out button in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open it in its own window.

2.Click the Print button (printer icon) in the top-right corner of the pop-out window.

3.In the print dialog, choose a printer to print a paper copy, or choose a PDF printer (such as Microsoft Print to PDF) to save the dashboard as a PDF file.

Printer friendly mode

Select the Printer friendly checkbox next to the Print button to display all widgets with white backgrounds and dark text, even when you are using a dark theme. This produces cleaner printouts and uses less ink. Clear the checkbox to return to your current theme.

Tip: Press F11 in the pop-out window to toggle fullscreen, which is useful for displaying the dashboard on a wall monitor.
