UpdateCustomVariable

Updates the value of an existing custom variable in PDQ Inventory. Both the variable name and new value are required.

Syntax

PDQInventory UpdateCustomVariable <Name> <Value>

Parameters

<Name>

Yes

The name of the custom variable to update. The variable must already exist.

<Value>

Yes

The new value to assign to the variable. Wrap in double quotes if the value contains spaces.

Examples

Set a custom variable to a new value:

PDQInventory UpdateCustomVariable ScanServer "\\scanserver\share"

PDQInventory UpdateCustomVariable AgentVersion 2.1.0

NOTE: This command updates an existing variable only. To create a new variable, use the PDQ Inventory console or the CreateCustomVariable command. The CreateCustomVariable command with the -Force flag can also update existing variables. This command is retained for backwards compatibility.
